Project Context and Objectives
The SIMONE research project (Towards a gender-sensitive curriculum in teacher education) is an inter-university initiative coordinated by the University of Seville, involving more than 30 researchers from 15 Spanish universities. The project is grounded in the need to improve initial teacher education for the effective implementation of coeducation in classrooms.
The main objectives of this research focus on: * Developing participatory diagnostic processes to identify areas for improvement in the university curriculum for teacher education. * Creating a common framework of coeducational teaching competencies through expert judgment. * Designing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of training proposals that incorporate a gender perspective. * Promoting the use of technology as a tool for raising teacher awareness.
Development Period and Methodology
The project is carried out during the period [Insert execution years, e.g., 2023-2026]. Methodologically, it adopts a participatory action research approach, underpinned by critical feminist pedagogy and an inclusive, intersectional perspective. This design seeks not only to collect data but also to drive tangible changes in university teaching culture and practices.
Final Products and Results
As a result of the project’s execution, various products aimed at knowledge transfer and its direct application in the academic field have been generated: * Educational resources and guidelines: Specific materials to facilitate the implementation of the gender perspective in university teaching syllabi. * Evaluated training model: Validated intervention proposals for the development of teaching competencies in equality. * Documentary and technological repository: Tools oriented towards teacher education.

Specific Contribution and Role in the Project
In alignment with current open science requirements and the evaluation criteria for research activity, our specific contribution to the Project has focused on the design, support, and execution of the Data Management Plan (DMP).
Given the structural complexity of the project—which involves data collection and analysis across 15 different university nodes—my work has consisted of ensuring that the entire information life cycle complies with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). This has involved:
- Data governance: Establishing methodological protocols for the collection, secure storage, and anonymization of information obtained during the diagnostic and evaluation phases, thereby ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and ethical research standards.
- Methodological support: Advising the research team on structuring the databases derived from participatory action research, facilitating the seamless integration of qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Preservation and openness: Defining the pathways for long-term archiving and open-access publication of the datasets underlying the generated publications and resources, thus ensuring transparency, the replicability of findings, and maximizing the social and scientific impact of the project.
